LVFC Furry Village Program
Devised Year One and improved upon with each year, the Furry Village Program (FVP) is LVFC’s signature reward for longer stays. These longer stays help us maintain a distinct community vibe and also help us with hotel room negotiations.
For 2026 stays, the FVP benefit is:
- $50 off 2027 registration.
- Early access to registration in 2027; your registration will be created for you. This is during the period where registration is initially capped; this cap will be lifted once the first wave of hotel bookings is complete. In other words: if you qualify for the FVP, you have much better odds of an in-block room the following year, but are not guaranteed Alexis Park or any particular hotel.

Review of Tales of Akadia by Sanders, Scher and Riley
It begins with a group of friends at a fur con, go seek out this mysterious object. Next thing they know they are transported and transformed to a world were anthro animals were common place and 1 has become a White Dragon. This is how Tales of Akadia begins.
All I know is I picked up 2 chapters in 4 comic books. The story is good, and you are left wanting to know more. https://x.com/TalesOfAkadia yes and up to the current page is up there
Frankly I really don’t know much, only other thing that someone involved in the comic sold the comic books to me at MFF.
All I can add is check it out on X, personally I love the stylized anthro owl. Frankly I would love to have a poster of it on my wall.
The artwork is great and so is the story.

R.I.P. Roger Allers
We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of animator and director Roger Allers at the age of 76. Throughout much of the world, and especially among furry fans, Allers will always be remembered as one half of the team that directed Disney’s The Lion King in 1994 (along with Rob Minkoff). The landmark movie remains the highest-grossing 2D animated film of all time. Later, Allers would apply his talents to the adaptation of The Lion King as a very successful Broadway musical (under director Julie Taymor). But many people don’t realize just how many interesting (and furry!) animation projects Roger Allers worked on over the course of his career. He began as an animator and character designer on the Animalympics TV specials (which would later be cobbled together into a feature film). He spent some time in Canada working as an animator on Nelvana’s feature film Rock & Rule. Moving on to Disney Animation, he worked as a storyboard artist on Oliver & Company, The Little Mermaid, and The Rescuers Down Under, before being promoted to Head of Story on Beauty and the Beast. After the (actually unexpected!) world-wide success of The Lion King, Allers was hard at work on a film called Kingdom of the Sun — but he left the project before it got turned into The Emperor’s New Groove under director Mark Dindal. After he left Disney, Allers became co-director (with Jill Culton) on Sony Pictures’ first animated feature, Open Season. Furry fandom owes a lot to the work of this talented artist. He will definitely be missed. Blessed Be.

Movie review: ‘Monkey King’ (2023), and some other titles
The Monkey King (trailer) is a 96-minute 3D animated film produced by Netflix along with several studios in East Asia. It was directed by Anthony Stacchi and written by Steve Bencich, Ron J. Friedman, and Rita Hsiao.When the film came out in August 2023, supposedly it was the most streamed film on Netflix that month; but IMDB rates it a 5.8 out of 10, and Rotten Tomatoes gives it 56% / 63%. For animation and visuals I think it should score slightly higher; story-wise I think that’s a good assessment.
