Yep, there are still new My Little Pony items turning up, especially for fans of the G5 series. Here’s one we missed, but it’s still out there for you to find — it’s the My Little Pony: Mane Event one-shot comic from IDW. “First, Pipp dragonsitting Sparky becomes a hairy situation when she mixes up her mane products and Sparky grows some luscious locks. Then, Zipp and Hitch split hairs about the best morning mane-care routines. Finally, Izzy is having a hair-raisingly bad mane day and decides a wash day is just what the curls need.” Available still from IDW, with a variety of covers from some of your favorite Pony artists.

Artist Alley Applications for AnthroIrish 2026 are now open! The form can be found here ( https://forms.gle/xg3NyiwHporcqJ3D6 )

Applications will close on September 24th 2025, at 8pm. All Applicants will be contacted once the form is closed. Please note that completing this form does not guarantee an artist alley table.

Note also that you must have both an entry ticket AND an artist alley table ticket purchased in order to attend as an artist. If you have any questions please contact info.anthroirish@gmail.com . Tickets will be available from October 1st 2025 at 8pm.

There is a lingering misconception, less common in the furry fandom than in broader society, which I would like to dispel. That misconception is the view that non-human animals (hereafter, just animals) are mindless, thoughtless, base creatures rather than fellow persons.

There are countless accounts and videos of animals doing amazing things and demonstrating great intelligence. However, we can never be sure if those are representative examples of animal behaviour or just once-off events. Furthermore, those are interpreted through untrained eyes and may not actually show a behaviour that people think it does. To try to avoid these issues, my goal here is to primarily rely on peer-reviewed scientific literature, ideally that which is publicly-available, but presented in a way that can be understood by all. To distinguish between scientific references and ordinary links, links to scientific sources are presented in the format [Author, year] based on academic referencing conventions.
